The mark

Alex's Lawn Maintenance

Elmore, AL — same hands, same yards, since 1988.

“Thirty-seven years on the same yards is its own kind of accountability.”

Our promise

Four things we promise. The same four since 1988.

We have done this work the same way for a long time. The price you hear is the price you pay, the day we said is the day we show up, and the yard looks better when we leave than when we got there. That is the whole thing.

  • On time, every time

Same day of the week, same crew, same truck. If we say Tuesday, we mean Tuesday. If something pushes us, you hear about it from us first.

  • Fair price, written down

You get a number before we start, broken out by line — lawn, edge, sprinkler, debris. No surprise add-ons after, no "labor" line that means anything we want.

  • Do it the way we would do our own

Cut at the right height for the turf, edged clean, the bed lines square. We do not leave a yard looking worse than how it looked an hour earlier.

  • Rooted in doing right by neighbors

Thirty-seven years on the same yards is its own kind of accountability. You see your customers at the gas station and the grocery store — you do the work like they will see it tomorrow.

What we do — River Region

One truck, one crew, the whole yard.

Most River Region yards need three things kept up: a Bermuda or zoysia lawn that's mowed at the right height, a perimeter that's edged and clean, and a sprinkler system that actually waters where it's supposed to. We've been doing all three out of Elmore since 1988.

  • from $45

    Regular lawn mowing

Weekly or biweekly mow on Bermuda, zoysia, centipede, or St. Augustine. Cut height tuned to your turf — Bermuda short, centipede taller, never scalped.

  • from $120

    Yard service + cleanup

Leaf cleanups in fall, debris hauling after storms, gutters blown off, beds re-edged. Steady upkeep is what keeps the yard from getting away from you.

  • from $220

    Landscaping + bed work

Mulch refresh, bed shaping, shrubs trimmed, new plantings put in the right spot for River Region sun and soil. Nothing fancy — just done right.

  • from $95

    Sprinkler repair

Broken rotor heads, leaky valves, controllers that have forgotten the schedule. We dig the valve box, find the leak, swap the head, reprogram the clock.

  • from $35

    Edging + trim work

Clean lines along drives, walks, and beds. String-trim what the mower can't get. Looks twice as good for the same yard, just better edges.

  • from $180

    Seasonal cleanups

Spring scalp + first feed in March. Late-February pre-emergent on Bermuda. Fall leaf clear and overseed where it makes sense. We work the central-Alabama calendar.

Since 1988

Thirty-seven years of Tuesdays in the River Region.

We have been mowing yards out of Elmore since the year before the Berlin Wall came down. Some of the kids on our first route now have grandkids of their own. A few of the same yards are still on the schedule. Here is the long version, short.

  • 1988

    Alex starts mowing yards

One truck out of Elmore. Same number then as now — (334) 313-5360. Bermuda and centipede, weekly route between the Coosa and the Tallapoosa.

  • Early 1990s

    Wetumpka restoration

Downtown Wetumpka begins its long arc back — historic riverfront blocks getting walked, painted, and replanted. The route through downtown picks up.

  • Late 1990s

Millbrook becomes the county’s biggest city

Montgomery commuters fill in the gap. New subdivisions north of US-82 mean new yards — most with Bermuda and a sprinkler system that needs an annual look.

  • 2007

    Central-AL drought

The summer that taught the River Region to water differently. Watering windows, mow heights, and pre-emergent timing all tightened up after this.

  • 2019

    Wetumpka EF-2 tornado

Cleanup work ran for months. Neighbors who had used us for one yard called us for the whole block.

  • Today

    Same number, third decade

Thirty-seven years in, the same crews still roll out of Elmore. Lawn work, yard service, landscaping, and the sprinkler system you forgot you had.

None of these milestones are ours — they are the River Region's. Our part is quieter: we have been mowing the same yards through every one of them.

Sprinkler repair

Often the same visit as the mow.

“Most River Region systems break in the same three places. We have been pulling these valve boxes since they were brass.”

The under-the-radar service

Sprinklers break. We fix them on the same route.

Most folks call us about the lawn and find out we do the sprinklers too. If you have a zone that will not turn on, a head that is watering the driveway, or a controller that has lost its mind — that is the same call as the mow.

  • Heads that spray sideways

A broken rotor nozzle, a tipped riser, or a wiper seal that has finally given up. Swap the head, level the riser, flush the line. Usually 30 minutes per head.

  • A zone that will not turn on

Solenoid is dead, the wire has corroded under the valve box, or the controller has dropped the zone. We meter the wire, dig the box, and replace the part. Honest about which.

  • A controller that has forgotten the schedule

After a power outage or a new modem swap, the clock and the days drift. We re-program the run-times, set up the late-Feb wake-up, and walk you through the buttons.

Reviews — River Region

Same owner, same number, year after year.

  • Alex has cut my parents' yard in Wetumpka for years. Same crew shows up, same time on the same day, and the lines are always straight. You can hear the mower coming and you know it's him.

    Bryan H.

    Wetumpka, AL · April 2026

  • Three sprinkler heads broken after the freeze. Alex came out, found a busted valve in the bed I didn't even know was there, fixed both and reset the controller. Honest pricing — wrote the parts on the invoice.

    Karen R.

    Millbrook, AL · March 2026

  • Professional and honest, every visit. Bermuda's been the most even it's been since we moved in. He cut it at the right height — most folks scalp it the first time and the yard never recovers.

    Doris W.

    Elmore, AL · Feb 2026

  • After the 2019 storm we had limbs everywhere and the yard was a mess. Alex's crew was the second call I made and the first one to show up. Cleared, hauled, put the beds back together inside a week.

    Tom S.

    Tallassee, AL · Sep 2025

  • Efficient. That's the word. He gives you a number, sticks to it, finishes the work, and you don't have to chase anybody. Been using Alex for fifteen years and the routine hasn't changed.
